Where do you source your materials?

We strive to work with suppliers with known industry, ethical and/or environmental certifications which hold these companies accountable. They include: Stuller, Hoover & Strong, Sorbet Sapphire, PT Diamonds and Fairever

What materials do you work with?

Every piece has a different set of guidelines for maintenance. Take a look below on suggestions on how to take care of your Malleable jewellery pieces.

10 Karat Solid Gold

  • Our 10 karat gold has a lighter saturation of colour than other karats of gold due to the alloy material used in accompaniment with 41.7% pure gold, which makes it the most resistant for everyday wear out of all the other karats.
  • We directly recycle our material from scrap traded for our ready to wear & custom collection which we then use a combination of refining & resupply. When our in house stock is out we rely on SCS certified gold from our supply chain.

14 Karat Solid Gold

  • Our 14 karat gold is the perfect equilibrium of saturation and resistance. 14 karat won’t tarnish due to the 58.3% of pure gold used in its alloying process plus we do not work with gold plating, gold vermeil or gold filled so you never have to worry about discolouration.
  • We are one of Canada’s only Fairtrade Licensees and have a supply of 14 karat Fairtrade Certified Gold in which you can request to be exclusively used in your piece.

Sterling Silver

  • Our 925 Sterling Silver is alloyed in house and comprised of 92.5% pure silver & 7.5% copper.
  • As Fairmined Goldsmiths we have an exclusive collection being launched May 2021 focusing on ethically mined Sterling Silver, you’re also able to request this within your piece.

Diamonds

  • We use a range of ethically sourced diamonds from in-house recycling to CanadaMark, Lab Grown’s to Salt & Peppers. Whatever diamond you fall in love with, rest assured that all of our diamond partners abide by following all aspects of the Kimberley Process and that your diamond is conflict-free.
  • We primarily work with VS1 to Si2 natural, untreated diamonds and be sure to check out the products descriptions for the exact specifications.

Sapphires

  • Our Sapphires are sourced through ethically focused suppliers predominately mined in Madagascar & Sri Lanka. We work with AAA - Commercial grade stones, we don’t believe in excluding a stone due to imperfections as this further worsens the problems of the mining industry.

Rubies

  • The “king of gems,” Ruby is one of the world’s oldest and most revered gemstones. It is also one of the rarest. We source our rubies exclusively from Sri Lanka, Thailand & Madagascar in order to avoid the dilution of conflict-stones.

Emeralds

  • We work with a range of in-house recycled and sourced Emeralds exhibiting the most luscious green hue. We work with Emeralds sourced from Columbia, Brazil & India within our ready to wear collection.

Opals

  • The colours of the rainbow. The glow of the Northern Lights. The dramatic flash of summer lightning. Our opals are exclusively sourced from Australia & Ethiopia in order to provide you with the upmost quality with such a precious stone, predominately working with A+ grade in order to accommodate longevity.
