About Us
We are a team of gemologists, diamond graders, goldsmiths & jewellery designers. At most jewellery shops, you don’t get to speak directly with the people making your jewellery, let alone be involved in almost every aspect of the design process. This is the experience we offer at Malleable.
We are also one of the few Fairmined and Fairtrade certified goldsmiths in Canada, showing our commitment to the environment and everyone involved in production. Everything you see is made right here in Toronto by our small team of talented and dedicated goldsmiths or direct local independent contractors.
Everyone who works for Malleable is paid above the Toronto living wage and in order to maintain this standard we are part of the Ontario Living Wage Network .
We highly encourage ideas from everyone in our team to better lead and grow the company. We pay attention to the ecological impact of every step in our production process, even offering shop $10 credit for returned gift boxes in usable condition.
We ship domestic orders under $300 via Canada Post. All domestic orders over $300, transcontinental & international orders are shipped via FedEx Express with adult signature required. We only ship orders Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm to ensure the safety of your shipment.
For orders shipping outside of Canada, a commercial invoice disclosing the full value of the purchase will be declared with the shipment in which may incur duties & taxes.

Custom Process
Generally yes, although this may not be possible for fragile gemstones such as opals or pearls. Stones like diamond , sapphire, ruby, and emerald can typically be reused for new designs without issue.
We can recycle all precious metals including gold , silver , platinum and palladium. Most gemstones can also be recycled into new designs. Unfortunately plated and costume metals cannot be repurposed.
We recommend against directly recycling lower karats of white gold into jewellery pieces as the nickel alloy can create undesirable effects on the new piece.

Diamond Process
Our recycled stones are recovered through our in-house recycling program. Otherwise, we source from a variety of ethical and conflict free suppliers. Our list of suppliers include Stuller, Hoover & Strong, PT Diamonds, and Sorbet Sapphire .
Yes! We work with a range of melee and large lab grown diamonds so we can source the perfect stone for the job.
Our goldsmiths are trained to carefully remove gemstones and diamonds from jewellery you no longer wear. We are then able to reuse them in a newly designed piece.
Please contact our diamond specialists with the specifications of diamond(s) you're looking for, ie - shape, size, colour. Or alternatively if you provide us with your budget we can do all the work for you.
From there we are happy to source available diamonds for you to choose from. Our team can also help you choose the right diamond if you aren’t sure exactly what you’re looking for.
Yes, we love using less common gemstones, colours and cuts in our pieces! Whatever you have in mind, we should be able to make it happen. We work with a variety of suppliers in order to provide a wide selection of unique stones.

Ethics
- Recycled gold and silver come from old jewellery that has been melted and refined. While recycling has an important place in our studio, the original source of metal for the melted jewellery cannot be traced to ensure it is conflict-free.
- Fairmined gold and silver ca n be traced all the way through the supply chain through Fairmined Connect.
- Fairtrade gold can be traced all the way through the supply chain using FLOCERT.
We are randomly and independently audited by FLOCERT and the Alliance for Responsible Mining for both our Fairmined and Fairtrade metals. Mines for Fairtrade and Fairmined Certified metals have high ethical standards in place such as no child labour, low environmental impact mining methods, and promotion of wellbeing in mining communities through premiums paid for the metal.
We are proud to call ourselves a Certified B-Corp! All B-Corp busi nesses are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. These businesses are dedicated to furthering a global culture shift in fair work environments with a positive impact. To maintain our B-Corp status, we are reassessed every 3 years.
Yes, as part of our recycling process we do buy old gold and some gemstones. However, our preference is to trade these items for a gift card or one of our pieces.
No. At this time we only source ethical stones for our own finished pieces.
Yes. As one of the only Fairmined and Fairtrade certified jewellers in Canada, we are proud to offer casting services to other artists. Yes, it’s exactly the same! The only difference is how it came to be - preloved jewellery instead of freshly extracted from a mine.
For gemstones and diamonds, they are simply unset from unwanted jewellery and can be reset into something new. Gold and silver are melted down, refined to 100% purity, then alloyed to the desired karat. In the case of silver, we alloy it to sterling silver (925).
No, our products are all solid gold or silver, and therefore very suitable for those with sensitive skin. This also means that they’ll last a lifetime. We have made a conscious decision not to produce any plated products, since plating wears over time resulting in a discoloured product.
